It’s odd to think that I’ve officially finished my internal medicine rotation, sans shelf exam. The idea that I’m supposed to “know” all of medicine now is ridiculous. I’m still surprised by how you can go through all the motions, get through the rotation, and yet know so little.
It’s safe to say that it’s been a pretty shitty roller coaster of a year, but I’m still thankful for much in my life. Health, family, new friends, old friends. Comfort. Health. Honestly, being blessed with good health becomes more and more poignant as I spend most of my waking hours in the hospital, and yet it’s one of the many things we take for granted. I’d try to write something a little more profound, but it seems this train of thought ends here. I love autumn weather and autumn colors.
Happy early Thanksgiving.
